The Thornhill Design Laboratory
Business, Communications Design
Over the next few
weeks, as we work towards a Happy New Year, there will be announcements of
changes in the rhetoric, structure and planning for The Thornhill Design
Laboratory.
First will be big
news about scheduling 2013.
I am still convinced
that creating a solid base, scheduling the details, understanding that
continuous improvement is a great model for product development and that
collaboration amongst smart partners is the path to an enduring success.
However, in meetings
with potential partners, there has been murmurs about needing a real calendar
to work around, financial planning based on monthly planning and a steady
drumbeat of public information. The
latter is more of a request for the Thornhill Digital Storytelling future.
Earlier in 2012 we
talked about changes in the Lab – and that these would be led by laying the
groundwork for a truly advanced communications system. We have a real-time documentation for this
system called “Changes,” This continuing saga reflects our development of a
fully integrated “Digital Landscape.”
As indicated
recently, there will be at least two blogs.
The initial release will continue to cover the expansive realm of
Thornhill Digital Storytelling. The
second will be a catch-basin for all projects under the Design Laboratory
umbrella.
For the remainder of
the year, these two siblings will exist side by side in this space. When we cross over to 2013 – a new dynamic
will emerge.
Would you like to
play the game “Where is our home base” with me?
Culver City is our official address, most of the work is performed in
Seattle and we have not been quiet about our interest in Maui.
Now there is an
upstart community offering really tantalizing options. That would be Miami. Stay tuned!

A lot of the
information in this week’s news started as just thoughts a few weeks ago,

Exciting!
And with these
fantastic changes comes growth and opportunities for others. To respond to partners requests we are
